Thought leadership

A company that wanted to be known for thought leadership had absolutely no content that would qualify as such. I spearheaded an entire white paper campaign, from researching industries and deciding on a topic, to writing a data-driven white paper with a clear point of view, to working with the analytics and design teams on format and amplification. The campaign metrics indicated its success, with an email CTR of 28% and actionable leads as well as one major contract with a health insurance provider directly tied to the white paper.

Sales training/messaging

Some companies are skeptical when it comes to looking at selling in a different way. One lab equipment company I worked with was highly resistant to solution selling methodology, so I used analytics and role-playing to convey the effectiveness of this methodology. The breakthrough came when the lone holdout had his own “aha moment” during a particular exercise. This led to a long-standing collaboration with in-person training and my developing a custom train-the-trainer module for them to use with other teams in the company.

International work

I began my career by heading to Kyiv, Ukraine to explore business opportunities for multinational firm Teledyne. My early days were less than promising, as I had the Minister of Chornobyl throwing business cards at me from across his desk. Yet I persevered, using my networking skills, flexibility, and unflappable nature to establish connections across a range of industries. In the end, I had contracts with, yes, the Ministry for dosimetry testing, as well as with other local companies on behalf of Water-Pik, Brown Engineering, and other subsidiaries under the Teledyne name.

The Canning Underground

I am nothing if not adaptable, easily going from highly technical writing to the whimsical. The Canning Underground is my boozy jam site which I started in 2017. My twee artisan jams have won many accolades, including 3-star awards from the highly prestigious Great Taste Awards in the U.K. I look at all metrics and data closely and optimize accordingly, via ad spend, channel, SEO, etc., leading to an ROI of 43% in 2022. I’ve also been able to donate thousands of dollars to support Ukraine in their ongoing fight against fascism. Слава Україні! Смерть вороґам!
